Hello everyone,

I just wanted to write and thank you all for the unbelievable time I had down in Rio not too long ago.

You have no idea how much you guys help contribute to someone’s overall experience while visiting, especially for those like me who were traveling alone and have no one to share the experience with except with people like yourselves (people who live and know Rio). That in and of itself is an amazing gift that you all so graciously acquiesce to those seeking to acquire an authentic cultural experience, and I thank you for it. Hope everything is going well, and I look forward to seeing your faces and hearing from you all again.

Marcela and I decided to return to Buzios today as the weather was a bit rainy and cold for kayaking. We will keep you in mind when we return to Brazil for either some more climbing or kayaking.

I came back to Japan on Saturday without big trouble, though it took a lot of time. I appreciated your nice guide in “Climbings in Rio” It was an important experience for me. Attached, please find the photos taken on the climbing tours.

Since climbing areas in Rio has not been announced or reported in Japan, only very few climbers would know the large amount and high quality rock walls in Rio. In my blog report, I also introduced “Climbinrio” and you.I hope my blog report will attract many Japanese climbers to your city.

It may be difficult but I hope I could visit Rio’s rock in future again.

Dia nublado no RJ e sem vontade de ficar em casa. O clima ideal para uma diversão nas montanhas. Depois de falar com o Fred, combinamos de fazer o Costão, já que nunca tinha escalado, mas sempre me senti atraída pelo esporte. E foi tudo muito bom!!! O Fred é um guia excepcional, super cuidadoso, dedicado e muito informativo. Tudo com ele tem explicação e respostas. Como primeira experiencia nas rochas foi fantástico. Me senti adrenada, me oxigenei!!! É muito delicioso, ainda mais com companhias tão agradáveis. Quero mais… mas agora quero um escaladão. Vou marcar meu batismo e depois conto como foi. Valeu Fred pela atenção e carinho. Valeu Climbinrio pelo profissionalismo. Beijocas, Rê.

The Ibis ledge is located at Sugar Loaf’s North face. From there you can have a nice view of the Guanabara bay.

Macaco Prego and Corcovado

Macaco Prego is a very nice route at Corcovado’s north face. It is graded 4/ VI A1 D1 E2. From the summit it is possible to access the Christ Statue platform. Once in the platform, after some coconut water and a 360º view of Rio around the base of the Redeemer, it is possible to choose different descent options: taking the trek trail that goes down to Cosme Velho and Laranjeiras; taking the Corcovado Rack Railway. There’s also lots of cabs, but I assume you will not be that tired!

The trail is very interesting. Goes down all the way through the forest. There are some old railway stations on the way. If you are up to a more touristic approach, the rail trip takes approximately 20 minutes and departs every half hour. The ticket price for a round trip at the rail is currently R$ 36,00.
