View from the Ibis Ledge

The Ibis ledge is located at Sugar Loaf’s North face. From there you can have a nice view of the Guanabara bay.

Macaco Prego and Corcovado

Macaco Prego is a very nice route at Corcovado’s north face. It is graded 4/ VI A1 D1 E2. From the summit it is possible to access the Christ Statue platform. Once in the platform, after some coconut water and a 360ยบ view of Rio around the base of the Redeemer, it is possible to choose different descent options: taking the trek trail that goes down to Cosme Velho and Laranjeiras; taking the Corcovado Rack Railway. There’s also lots of cabs, but I assume you will not be that tired!

The trail is very interesting. Goes down all the way through the forest. There are some old railway stations on the way. If you are up to a more touristic approach, the rail trip takes approximately 20 minutes and departs every half hour. The ticket price for a round trip at the rail is currently R$ 36,00.
