The Tijuca Forest is considered the biggest urban forest in the world. Right in the middle of town, it is the heart and lungs of the city of Rio.

The Tijuca Peak is the highest summit in the city with 3805 ft (1160 m). On the Northwest face there are some very beautifull routes, all about four pitches long like the beautiful Magia Vertical. The climbs there range between 5.7 and 5.11d.

One of the main sport climbing areas in Rio is Campo Escola 2000. It's a great climbing crag, specially in the summer, as it's always in the shade of the forest. With routes up to 25 meters long and with grades ranging between 5.11d and 5.12b, including Coquetel de Energia, the hardest sport route in town.
